We had our first ever pop up market in Brooklyn c/o Artists & Fleas (Summer 2021). It was our first in-person event after launching our humble brand online.
The experience brought so much meaning and realizations to our small-business journey and life in general.
Here are our top 5 inspiring takeaways from this event:

We were inspired by the stories of our fellow small-business owners in the market. From someone who's been doing it for quite a while, to someone who just started, there are a few things in common, passion, dedication, resilience, and hard work. Exchanging stories with them brings a different kind of energy and a positive vibe. Hearing their journeys and experiencing those ourselves, changed our perspective. This inspired us to support small businesses more, for they are built by people who stand on the shoulders of giants who came before them. Their success isn't guaranteed, but it can be learned from and achieved by those who persevere through adversity.
2. Your purpose is always bigger than anything else
We were inspired by the people who supported us because of our cause. It melts our heart to meet individuals and families who feel the urge to contribute knowing we are up for something bigger than selling arts and tees. This inspired us to keep going and live our purpose.
3. Creating designs that speak to someone's hearts and souls is priceless
We were inspired by those who connected with us through our designs and the meaning behind them. It brought us so much joy meeting people who appreciated our artwork, from the nature-inspired, to life's purpose, and to social causes that we stand for. This inspired us to create more.
4. Know your roots and never forget where you came from
We were inspired by our Filipino-Americans who right off the bat supported us because of our common roots. From old friends to new friends, to common friends and random Filipinos who we just met that day. Unbelievable to see how they trusted and supported us right away. We felt your love that weekend. Thank you!
5. Families that shop together, stay together
We were inspired by families who stopped by and shopped for our goods. It reminded us of our childhood days. It showed us how important family is and how important to spend time with them especially on a weekend.
We ought to inspire in our first pop-up, but in a way, we were the ones who got inspired by the people we met and the overall experience.
